Industrial flooring for the airport and port sector

Airport and port

Why are we the ideal partner for the airport and port sector?

Because Recodi designs technologically advanced industrial concrete or resin floors capable of responding to the specific needs of transit areas.

Because safety and quality come first and start from the vast pavements of these areas.

From a technical point of view, these areas require flooring capable of withstanding continuous mechanical stresses deriving from the passage of planes and other means of transport. Here concrete floors are the ideal solution, but to ensure wear resistance and efficiency they must be designed and built according to specific key requirements:

  • For outdoor flooring, an adequate exposure class (XF3 with a water/cement ratio of less than 0.5) that allows the concrete to withstand atmospheric phenomena such as thermal shock and precipitation, without presenting irregularities;
  • the surface must have a high grip coefficient to allow aircraft tires and other vehicles to adhere perfectly to the ground without the risk of slippage;
  • Flatness and slope: it is important that squares and rest areas do not have undulations or changes between one portion of the floor and another. The slope must allow the water to drain to avoid stagnation and therefore possible flooding;
  • the absence of joints: by using the correct concrete mix and sizing the surface appropriately, it is possible to create floors without joints, i.e. continuous surfaces that facilitate the transit of vehicles and reduce the potential degradation of the tires and the surface itself.

A fundamental element for this sector, which can be made on both resin and concrete, is horizontal signs, as it guarantees order and safety. For example, it is essential to manage the flow of people and vehicles by delimiting and distinguishing transit areas from those for dismantling and maintaining aircraft.
